Mission Ready to Develop Additional Uniforms for Department of Homeland Security in Cooperation with North Carolina State University

VANCOUVER, B.C. – (TSX-V: MRS) – Further to a July 2015 News Release announcing a cooperative agreement between wholly-owned subsidiary, Protect The Force Inc. (“PTF”) and the North Carolina State University (“NCSU”), Mission Ready Services Inc. (“Mission Ready” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the expansion of the program with an additional 176 uniforms requested for further systems-level testing by the NCSU and field testing to be conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

In cooperation with NCSU, PTF has been developing and refining an Advanced Multipurpose Base ensemble for Emergency Responders (“AMBER”) for the Department of Homeland Security. The AMBER project aims at developing a next generation uniform that integrates state of the art technologies including flame resistance, blood-borne pathogen protection, water repellency, improved comfort, integrated knee pads, high visibility features among other features.

The award follows a successful initial 14-month subcontract through Prime Contractor, NCSU – Textile Protection and Comfort Center (“TPACC”) for the development of 150 prototypes for testing and evaluation.

PTF’s Chief Technical Officer, Francisco Martinez states, “The PTF team is exceedingly proud to have been chosen by NCSU and by DHS to continue to advance this project and to provide final deliverables in this multi-year contract. The resulting uniforms are a leap ahead in technology with features and protective technologies that will revolutionize the industry and increase the performance and protection levels of First Responders. It is an honor to play a significant role as the AMBER uniform transitions from a concept to a cutting-edge final product.”

In addition to the provision of 176 additional uniforms, PTF will coordinate – through the approval process developed by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) – the certification of materials, and ensemble, to meet the NFPA 1975: Standard on Station/Work Uniforms for Emergency Services. NFPA 1975 safeguards emergency services personnel on the job by establishing requirements for flame-resistant station uniform clothing that won’t cause or exacerbate burn injury. NFPA 1975 provisions apply to design, performance, testing and certification of non-primary protective work apparel and the individual garments comprising work apparel. In addition, this document specifies criteria for thermally stable textiles that will not rapidly deteriorate, melt, shrink, or adhere to the wearer’s skin, and also provides optional requirements and tests to verify flame resistance, odor resistance, water resistance, and insect repellency.

Protect the Force Signs Exclusive Patent License Agreement with US Army

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Mission Ready Services Inc. (TSX-V: MRS) – Mission Ready Services Inc. (“Mission Ready” or “MRSI”) is pleased to announce that it has signed an exclusive Patent License Agreement (the “Agreement”) with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center (“NSRDEC”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Protect the Force Inc. (“Protect the Force” or the “Company”). The license terms will provide Protect the Force with exclusive rights to market the Integrated Body Armor Garment (“Next Generation Body Armor”) anywhere outside of the U.S. Federal Government, including local and state law enforcement agencies, as well as internationally to markets such as the Canadian Army and all NATO countries and partners.

Developed over the past 4 years – under a Broad Agency Announcement for the Army Next Generation Body Armor – through a successful joint effort between Protect the Force and NSRDEC, the Integrated Body Armor Garment is a revolutionary breakthrough in soldier protection technology and answers the need for a high-mobility, light-weight Next Generation Body Armor. The Integrated Body Armor Garment is the basis for the Company’s previously announced Ballistic Combat Shirt (“BCS”) and Tactical Police Shirt (“TPS”).

The Integrated Body Armor Garment contains a network of body armor panels that provides protection from ballistic threats while permitting a wide range of motion and providing increased comfort and breathability to the wearer. Mission Ready announced the filing of the patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as an international filing under the Patent Cooperation Treaty for the Integrated Body Armor Garment in a news release dated August 12, 2014.

Robert DiLalla, NSRDEC Team Leader for the Infantry Combat Equipment Team in the Warfighter Directorate, was named as an inventor on the patent applications licensed by Protect the Force. Mr. DiLalla worked closely with the Company in their effort to ensure that the Warfighters’ needs were addressed by the Integrated Body Armor Garment. Mr. DiLalla states, “It’s been extremely productive working with Protect the Force over the past few years developing advanced concepts for the next generation of Soldier protection. Clearly, we’re both excited that some of the concepts, such as the ballistic combat shirt, fared well during the Army development test phases for the Soldier Protection System program of record. Our goal from the beginning was to improve Soldier performance while maintaining the same ballistic protection as the current Interceptor Body Armor system. We were able to quantify significant performance increases in laboratory testing, but it was the exceptionally high user acceptance across three development test phases that indicated we had something revolutionary. While our mission here at the NSRDEC is to support the Warfighter I am pleased to know that this technology has application to better protect members of the law enforcement community both domestically and abroad.”

Francisco Martinez, Chief Technical Officer of Mission Ready states, “Considering the emphatically positive feedback we have received from user evaluations in a variety of tactical and combat-related environments, we are excited to receive this exclusive license from the U.S. Army providing a largely uninhibited path for the Company to pursue our sales and marketing efforts on a broad scale with a primary focus on national and international SWAT and Emergency Response Teams.

(“10-20” or the “Company”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRSI, has received a national contract (the “Contract” or “Agreement”) with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (“AAFES”) for Tactical Gear Restoration & Cleaning Services.  The Agreement begins with Joint-Base Lewis McChord (“JBLM”) and includes provisions for 10-20 to add stores on other Department of Defense installations during the contract term, by mutual consent with AAFES.

10-20 launched its first retail location in the Post Exchange (“PX”) at JBLM in early 2013 and subsequently celebrated the launch of its second PX installation in September of 2014 at Fort Bragg. 10-20’s retail locations serve the individual soldier market and provide comprehensive, economical and convenient cleaning, decontamination and repair solutions including complimentary on-base pickup and delivery and guaranteed acceptance when returning 10-20-serviced gear to the Central Issue Facility (“CIF”).  10-20’s Western Zone Manager, retired Command Sergeant Major Vic Martinez, stated, “10-20 has found a service niche that’s a perfect fit with the Exchange.”  The Company also provides services to clean and disinfect barracks furniture.  Soon the Company will begin servicing firefighter gear and offering application of a new type of highly stain resistant, after-market treatment for soldiers’ boots.

“10-20 incorporates a ‘top down’ and ‘bottom up’ growth strategy by simultaneously developing relationships at the top levels of the Department of Defense procurement channels, at the installations and with the individual soldiers we ultimately serve” states Clay Williamson, President of 10-20 Services Inc. “We are very pleased with the timing of this contract as we move into our next growth phase which includes the synergistic addition of on-base retail stores within proximity of 10-20 decontamination and repair facilities.  With over 90 CIF’s worldwide, we now have a streamlined process for entering into these locations where appropriate for our operations.”

The Contract is for an initial two-year period, beginning April 1, 2015 and includes extension provisions for up to three (3) additional years.
